31. tijuana bibles

you're afraid
that I won't change -
dancing my hips and head
till I'm dizzy,
tracing my pointy lips
with the tip of my tongue,
shaping my body
for Tijuana bibles,
changing my first name to Dixie --
you're afraid
that I will never love you as much as
you love me,
but I do,

I just love differently,
you're afraid and
I am too,
but if I can't change,
will you still hold my hands,
letting my feet float on your feet
as we shuffle across your kitchen floor
as the ice melts
under warm summer tequila?
